The H3 road barrier is a type of metal safety barrier for roads, belonging to class H of the European standard EN 1317. This type of barrier is designed to protect road users from the impacts of high-speed heavy vehicles such as trucks.
This type of barrier is designed to protect road users from the side impacts of heavy vehicles such as trucks (heavy vehicle mass 15500 kg speed 80 km/h ) and cars (light vehicle 850 kg speed 100 km/h ). The H3 barrier is made up of a series of corrugated metal elements, generally in galvanized steel. The barrier is fixed to the ground using steel anchor posts driven by a pile driving machine or with posts with plates bolted to the concrete curb using log bolts and two-component resin. This type of barrier is often used on highways.
